no more games pleeeeeeeease!

Right now I have every game I was looking foward to this year. First came Rome Total War, then Dawn of War, Then Half-Life 2, and now World of Warcraft. I think WoW is going to be the last game I buy in a loooong time. Not just because its a really great game as well as the other games I bought, but it is going to consume a lot of my time that I should be spending on getting a life, or working towards my career. So after the excitement dies down, i'll cut back my play time and do something a little more productive. I'll be 22 next Monday, which means I have waisted yet another year of my life. I'm not saying I didn't have fun playing games and going to bars, but WTF do I have to show for this past year of my life? Ok, so I did some more work for the company in my field, I moved out of my parents house, and became free of that girl whom I didn't belong with.. That about sums it up. New goals are:
- Be proactive in my career and find a new job or learn more about what I have been doing.
- Keep up with the bills so I don't get evicted
- Find a new girl that actually has something in common with me.
- Work on that project that I dreamed up last year.

When it comes around to my 23 birthday im gonna come back here and see if I've done any of that.

I killed 300 people yesterday

Sunday is a good day to kill. I usually get my fix in and kill about 100+ people on Sunday, just to releave some stress for the upcoming week. But just after I had my fill, my brother invites me to join his friends in an group killing! I had to have killed at least 200 people by the time it was over. That was one of the best kill fest I have ever been to!

... oh, you do know im talking about Counterstrike: Source on my computer and a Halo 2 lan party right? Ok good.

BAD NOTES:
-My friend never called me (suprise!) but I wasnt going to go out Saturday night anyway. Needless to say... im still all alone *sadfrown*

GOOD NOTES:
-The Reddletters showed up this Friday (had my weeks mixed up) and played a good show. I spent all my drink money then, so Saturday was out of the question.
-Titans WON! They came from behind with a crippled team to beat a better standing team in the division. It was a very good day for them. Hopefully they can do the same thing next week against the Texans. The sucky thing is that I picked against the titans this week so in a way, It was a win/lose for me.

what do I got to lose..

I have defeated half-life 2
Live me, die you, good night!

But thats not what I was going to say.... The weekend is coming and that means another sorry atempt to "pick up chicks" as they say.*snort* Damn my confidence is mindblowing! Anyway one of my friends at the bar (yes I know a lot of ppl at the bars around here... thats how much of a drunken barfly I have become.) Said she was going to take me out and help me on my quest this weekend. Not like I really need her help, but I guess I have nothing to lose so why not. The problem is that the last 3 or so people that I have given my number to have never used it..... its just sitting in their phone being passed over and ingnored while everyone else is getting called up to go have a good time. What the funk! Althought this is a girl that I see every weekend up there, so chances are she will remember to call me...... and cancel, lol

Hello, my name is Brian. And I am a game-a-holic.

Well, like my description says, I am a bit of a nerd. HeeeeEEEEHHHHHH *snort* (thats the noise nerds make!)

My main form of mindless entertainment is computer games. I am not talking about kiddie games like solitaire and mine sweep... I'm talking about the multi-million dollar, high end, grade A games. I mention this because today is the release of the the greatest game ever. The culmination of a brilliant team, millions of dollars, a state of the art game engine, and 6 years of development. This morning (2am) I had the pleasure of playing this masterpeice (sound like enough of a fanboy yet?) The game is Half-Life 2

did i mention that this my desired "career" that I have been working toward since I graduated. Well, at least I can honestly say that I am a game developer because I have my name in the credits of a game that was released last year and sold in stores. Too bad I have been to lazy to be productive enough to really make myself usefull to the team. More about my career later..... must get back to playing games! *twitch*

Titans let me down again.

Crickey! I cant beleive the Titans lost today. See, I do this thing called pigskin pickem where you pick who you think is going to win each football game over the weekend. And this is a quote that I said earlier when I made my pick for the Titans vs Bears. "Surely you know the Titans can beat the Bears.... at home... after the bye..." But nooooo, they had to lose it in overtime

Ooooooooooh well.

well that was a waiste of time...........

at least the music was good.

time to pass out :-p

boohoo

The band I was looking foward to hearing at Shakers aparently was changed to a different band. I was hoping the hear the reddletters

They are a talented bunch from Dublin Ireland with really thick accents, but somehow ended up in the middle of Alabama playing music. They played a lot of cover songs that I liked and seemed like my kind of band, although the CD's I got off of them was totally mellow and didn't work for me very well.

Hopefully DV8 will be good too. I decided not to get smashed tonight and dance like a crazed monkey... that probably scares a lot of potential friends away. lol

Noone there is really anything like me anyway, but I don't know were else to go on a Friday night after 9 in Alabama. If it weren't for the live bands, I would quit going to clubs all together.

I *heart* XM

I gotta say that XM Radio OWNS.

I've had my XM Roady for several months now thanks to the my Moms company. I get to use the demo radio in my car and test all of the toys in case anyone has questions at the store. So basically its free for me....how cool is that! Really freakin cool, damnit!!
My favorite station is Squizz which plays all sorts of Alternative Rock. If they don't have anything good on theres a few other stations that I go to. Although I am a bit disapointed in their Punk station. A couple months ago I actually sent Squizz an email that went a little something like this....
"Play Primus, 'My Name is Mud' at 5:05pm or suffer the consequences."
But they didn't play it that day, which I figured..... BUT yesterday when I got off work the song had just started! I thought that was pretty awsome.. aparently they didn't want to suffer my wrath!
Anyway, the Roady is great, the sound quality is superior to regular radio, as well as the song variety. You can use it anywhere in the US and listen to the same station, and you can take it out of your car and listen to it inside.
If your intersted I can hook you up with a good deal.

lazy bones

Although I am sick right now, I still have been extra lazy lately. I was thinking about how late I sleep in the morning when I came up with this line in my description, "If living was better then dreaming, maybe I wouldn't be so lazy." Im sure everyone can relate to time in there life were they don't want to get up to go to work or school. Especially when they were having an amazing dream. Its just that lately every dream has been more apealing then my life.... even if its about stupid stuff.
See, one of my problems is that my main job right now is working part time for my Mom. She has a nice company that she started from scratch in our living room and now currently supports about 8 full time and a couple part time employees in a fairly large office. The point is that I get the luxury of creating my own schedule. Therefor I can sleep in as long as I want, which usually is till around 10-11am, and I can randomly take days off or leave early if I have something else going on. Some might consider me lucky, but I am starting to realize that it is ruining my work ethics and creating a very lazy life style. I don't want another day job because this keeps me around computers and learning thing somewhat in my field, plus the pay is good. But I should find a job at night or work towards my career in a new way.
Im sure the people who have the great careers or the perfect people to share their lives with don't quite have the same problems. Currently those are (or at least should be) my main goals in life right now. I would be lying if I said I am happier now then last year about this time when I was still with my ex-girlfriend and doing new things towards my career. Right now I am just desparate for someone new to share my love, and my life with. I think once I have that happyness back in my life, I will be more motivated to work and to wake up in the mornings.

Who will love me?
Your dream girl.
Where is she hiding?
In your dreams.
When will I find her?
When you dream.
What will I do then?
Live your dreams.

... is that a poem?! damn, I must be getting desparate! lol

Blog 101

Ok, so I don't really know what a blog is or why I am doing this but I was told its like a bit of a journal that you can post pictures and keep on the web. Since I've never kept a journal, never really take photographs and I can't recall half my life, I think this might be worth something to me in the future. I don't even know if other people can see this, but it doesn't really matter to me. I really just want to keep this like a time capsule. Showing bits of what I am like now, so my future self will look back and know where he's coming from.
Just to get things started, I think my first topic will be about my name. Brian Joseph Cummings aka B.J. Cummings. That's just perfect... my parents gave me the name of a porn star. Its a shame I didn't figure out why people laughed at it until I was in high school and I put 2 + 2 together. As if CUMmings wasn't bad enough! Although I do like the name Brian. Except when people write down Bryan or Brain. GRR!
The origin of my first name is actually hinted in the title of my blog. Monty Python fans would catch it right away. Yes, my name came from the title of a classic British parody movie about Jesus. Maybe that's why I don't take religion seriously, LOL! I never actually saw 'The Life of Brian" but I did like "The Search for the Holy Grail". Now would you believe that I have a brother named Tim!? Yes, he is named after the Enchanter Tim from that movie... Thanks Dad :P. Apparently my Mom went along with it because she thought he was named after Tim from Lassie, hahaha. Although we did have a few Sheltie dogs growing up, so I guess she made dad pay for it!
Another thing about my name I guess I should explain is the initial switch thing to come up with crianbummings. I use it as my AIM name, and the name of my blog account. I just thought it was funny really, and normally I am a possitive and happy person....although lately I have been feeling a bit blue :(
Perhaps I need to get some of that off my chest in my next entry.
